The Warehouse Art Museum and Research Center is extending their immersive exhibition CHINA: Then & Now – Jan Serr through January 28, 2022!

Featuring sixty-five photographs exhibited for the first time, the immersive exhibition depicts the “Old Town” Hutong neighborhood streets, the restful Scholar’s Garden, and the ultra-contemporary world of Maglev bullet trains traveling 375 miles per hour. Mirroring the artist’s efforts to explore the passing of time, large-scale installations, including a full-size Moon Gate, scholar stones and water feature, grant visitors the time and space to contemplate the vast, the personal, and their place in the world.
In addition to Serr’s photographs, the exhibition includes Serr’s painting of the Tiananmen Square massacre, as well as an original video illustrated by her. Other works includes a large figurative ceramic by Pamela Leung, hand-colored brass rubbings, and other Chinese objects.
