Valley businesses are working hard to create inclusive environments for their teams and are developing a wide range of strategies to meet the needs of their employees. Menomonee Valley Partners created Valley Talks as an avenue that employers can offer employees as a place to learn about diversity and inclusion issues that impact each of us, learn and engage with peers at local businesses, and gain unique perspectives different than our own.
Each gathering has a different focus yet provides a no-judgment zone to learn more about yourself and provide peer-to-peer insight on diversity and inclusion practices in the workplace.
In December, we welcome Judge Derek Mosley to speak on Implicit Bias. As a municipal court judge, Judge Mosley is a fixture in Milwaukee, but he has taught implicit bias on a national platform to everyone, from schools to large-scale corporations.
Implicit Bias is the study of attitudes and beliefs that occur outside of our conscious awareness and control. An implicit bias may even run counter to your conscious beliefs without you realizing it.
Based on each of our individual upbringing these biases are amongst us all and have an effect on the workplace and how we work together. Register for this event to learn something about yourself as well as aid in changing dynamics at your workplace.
Valley employers please share this invite with all members of your team as there is so much to learn from this presentation.
